Welcome, all humans. We are patient-centered, collaborative, preventive, and root-cause motivated.
Susannah Kerwin, owner of Tendwell
Susannah is a board-certified Adult Nurse Practitioner specializing in Adult, Holistic and Functional Medicine.
Trained at the University of San Francisco and New York University, Susannah has been working with patients to help them define and realize their best health for more than twenty years.
Originally from California, Susannah has lived in San Francisco, New York City, Denver, and overseas, including a year in China, where she spent time exploring Chinese traditional medicine. Her wide-ranging studies and experiences have had a profound impact on the shape of her practice. Her approach is patient-centered, collaborative, preventive, and root-cause motivated. She uses nutritional approaches, advanced testing, and considers the patient as a whole person, not just a list of symptoms. She approaches each case with an open mind, while at the same time insisting on rigor and demonstrated effectiveness when deciding on treatment modalities. She believes that many health goals can be met with non-pharmaceutical approaches, including changes in lifestyle and diet.
Prior to becoming an NP, Susannah worked for more than a decade as an RN in psychiatric and surgical settings in California and New York. Susannah also occasionally serves as adjunct faculty at the New York University graduate school of nursing. In her free time, she loves to read, cook, eat and travel. She spends time running in Prospect Park and hanging out with her friends and family. She’s a cat lover and enjoys crafty projects and recently, gardening.
What my patients are saying
“Susannah is patient, kind, asks good questions, a good listener, and very knowledgeable. She made me feel heard and respected. I would definitely come back to see her again. The best medical visit experience I've had in 7 years of living in NYC.”

“After trying unsuccessful conventional approaches for years (literally), Susannah helped me attend to what was going on with my body and my mind together as a system. I feel like she provided the missing piece to the puzzle.”
